Community Involvement

• Charlotte Region:
  Member of the Lake Norman Chamber.

  Member of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Piedmont.

  Member of Charlotte Southeastern Inter-Relational Database Users Group (SIRDUG).  Served as Publicity chair from 2006-2008.

  Member of Metropolitan Business and Professional Women (Charlotte Chapter of BPW – Joined November 2010).

  Member of Davidson United Methodist Church.  Currently teach the 6th grade once per month.

  Treasurer of Charlotte chapter of AAII (American Association of Individual Investors).  Lifetime AAII member.

  Taught at least one Junior Achievement class between Fall of 2011 and Spring of 2011.

  Member NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Charlotte from 2004-2011. Education Chair on chapter board July 2006 – June 2007. Chair of the NAWBO Charlotte North Special Interest Group from January 2005 through June 2008.

  State:
  Member of the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) and participant in Charlotte WISE (Women in Information Science and Engineering).

  Lifetime member of the North Carolina State University (NCSU) Alumni Association.  Served a three year term on the association board from 1983-1986.  Member of the State Club.

  Served terms on the Board of the NCSU College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences(PAMS) Foundation as follows:  mid 1980′s,  2 terms from 1998-2006.  Currently serving 3 year term on NCSU College of PAMS Alumni/Friends Advisory Board. Volunteer in Pack Partners. Received the 2008 Zenith Medal for Service from PAMS.

  Member of the NCSU Wolfpack Club since 1976.

  Following the campaign for NCSU Bell Tower Chimes.  I was a University Carillonneur (played Bell Tower Chimes) from 1974-1976.  In 2011 found the tape recording of the Commencement 1975 playing.  I played just before the processional.  NCSU has digitized it and I have a copy.

  National:
  Member of ACM (Association of Computing Machinery), (Joined April 2010).

  Member of The Entrepreneurship Institute (Joined December 2010).

  Member E-Women Network (Greater Charlotte chapter – Joined November 2010).

  Member of the Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA) from 1993 until it closed in December 2009.  On the ICCA National Board of Directors April 2004- March 2006.  President of At Large chapter Spring 2005 – February 2007.
