US South Travels

  • Atlanta, Georgia. Visited sites in Atlanta as a young girl when my father would attend the dental conventions. In May 2005, drove to speak at the ICCA chapter meeting on behalf of the ICCA. In June 2005, drove to attend the ICCA conference. In June 2008 drove to attend the WBENC conference.

    Alto, Georgia. In 1980, I drove to the Riegel Textile plant to finalize the LIFO inventory system requirements. While there, I was able to go on a plant tour of the modern facility.

    Birmingham, Alabama. December 27-30 attended the PapaJohns.com bowl on the 29th. While in the city attended the Pep Rally in Five Points South, the Birmingham Museum of Art and the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

    Dallas, Texas. In October 2011 I attended the Tigerpaw Software Conference in the downtown area.  Since staying over, I was able to use DART to attend the Texas State Fair.

    Fries,Virginia. In 1980 I drove to the Riegel Textile plant to determine LIFO inventory system requirements. While there, I toured the plant and saw the water wheel.

    Florida. In February of 2002, I took 12 days to drive down one side of Florida and back up the other. I started with a one-day stop in Savannah, Georgia. Then headed into Florida with stops in Saint Augustine, Palm Beach/Boca Raton, Key West, and Sarasota.

    Jacksonville, Florida. In March 1989, spent one day as part of the Consumer Loan team sent by First Union to research the loan processing at a bank purchased in Florida.

    Nashville, Tennessee. April 13 drove to Nashville via I-77/I-81/I-40 to attend the Robin Robins Bootcamp from April 14-17. On 18th drove back via I-40/I-81/I-26/I-40/I-77. Had time to see The Hermitage, take Trolley Tour, and attend the Grand Ole Opry.

    Orlando, Florida. In November 2007, attended the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) conference.

    Trion, Georgia. In 1974 I rode with co-workers to spend July 4th counting cotton at the Riegel Textile warehouse for the physical inventory. In 1979, I drove here to do research for the LIFO system.

    Virginia Presidents Tour. In Fall of 1993 my mother and I took a flight to Washington, DC to participate in a Smithsonian tour of the Presidents from Virginia. The tour was of the homes of the presidents, the University of Virginia, and a special tour of the White House.

    Washington, DC. On a tour bus in 1972, stopped in DC to see a couple of monuments on the way to Philadelphia. Toured DC in 1977 while attending a wedding. Then toured again in 1993 as part of a tour group (got a special tour of the White House). In June 2008 attended the ICCA conference in Crystal City. Toured DC to see some sites not seen before and attended a baseball game while there while attending a wonderful conference. Returned in April 2009 to see the Cherry Blossoms, parade and tour the Capital building.
